In the early 1900's, 'The Yorkville Candy Kitchen' in York, South Carolina was famous for its fine old-fashioned iced cream. With his family, he created an artisanal iced cream that incorporated the finest quality ingredients available, including velvety smooth farm-fresh cream. John 'Demetriou' Demas insisted that only the creamiest textured iced cream could carry the best flavours forward for full appreciation. He taught his sons the art of crafting his sweet iced cream, the family-owned parlour was churning out hundreds of gallons each week, and by 1919, including custom flavours for local dairy farmers using their own fresh cream.
